Default 1996 2 door Tahoe LS3 4x4 gearing and axle help

I have just started a build on a 96 2 door tahoe. I purchased a ls3 and just ordered a 4l80e auto tranny thats built. I was told i should upgrade front and rear axles and make my gearing more agressive currently has 3.42 but i want to look into 3.73 or possibly 4.10s. I need help finding a good fit if anyone here can help with suggestions or where i can find replacements would be greatly appreciated

thanks

What size tires and what kind of driving will you be doing?

Think of it this way, larger tires will require a higher gear "number" to make it worth it. Like 4.10's or 4.56's if running big tires and 3.73's or 4.10's if you aren't.

Still undecided i know im looking at iroc style wheels. 20 to 22" low profile. Again not much of a pro here with hose so with the wheel and tire. Figure addeding how much in tire im not sure. Do you know what companies havi g gearing packages? And is replacing axles neccessary? They are straight and not rotted. No cracks wither. Just not aure if that power will require something more heavy duty

so it ain't as much about the wheel size as it is the overall tire height.
whatever tires you're looking at running, check the overall diameter specs (or do math) to see how tall it is. stock's probably about 31.5", so considering the high 1st gear of the 4L80, i'd probably use something like a 4.11 to balance highway rpm with power from a stop... but if you're bumping your rubber up to 33s or 35s (depending on how big of wheels you go with & what you consider "low profile"), i'd suggest a 4.30 or 4.56

anything from 29-31" id go 4.10. Smaller than that and a 3.73 may make more sense.
