14 bolt semi float 8 lug 6 lug, are they the same?

Been holding out installing OBS Z71 14 bolt being I want to get my hands on a OBS 2wd one to see how it would fit using a 6 lug 15 x 8 rally wheel. Having no such luck finding one yet though. The rally wheel is suppose to have either 3.5" or 4" bs. Don't have one of those yet either to verify bs. In due time one will pop up.
1FastBrick you ever personally measured the WMS of the OBS 2wd version? Reason I ask is a search shows atomic saying 63" while other forum searches say it is only 2.5" shorter than the 4wd version. Maybe they mean per side but don't specify.
I know my OBS 4wd is 67.5" WMS and atomics thread says 68". My NBS 10 bolt is 68.5" WMS.

Thank you sir, that's a big difference. Problem I was having was trying to get a craigslist add guy to understand WMS. Axle was a 1.5 hrs away so wasn't going to make a 3 hr. trip without verification. He said his was 65" and thought wow that is the middle of what Atomics thread said between 2wd and 4wd so thought the guy wasn't measuring right.
From a visual ad if it has a good pic looks like the perches on the 2wd are allot closer to the axle flange.
Atomic if you see this would you consider updating your 14 bolt thread since it looks to be the bible every references when doing a net search.

For the $10 I would put a new sleeve on it. If the set up has alot of mileage a seal might not be a bad idea too.
When I pull a gear set and carrier I take all the shims and spacers with it. I have been told its usually pretty close and is alot easier then starting from scratch.
Remember despite the critical surfaces being machined, your still dealing with a casting. if there is any side shift from casting to casting you may need to adjust the side shims to get the right backlash.
