Default 05 gmc sierra crooked wheel well gaps

Ok so I just put 2 inch drop shackles on the truck. I drove it around to let the suspension settle and from the top of the tire on the driver side to the bottom of the bed there is around a 1inch or little more gap difference than the other side. Also it isnt quite all the way level. Any thoughts, ideas, or anyone else had this problem. Truck is 2wd. Thanks in advance!

Fuel tank is on the drivers side.

Lowering the truck will make it more obvious because of the weight on that side. If the tank is nearly empty the gap is less but when there is 210lbs of fuel with a full tank, it will show the difference.

I had a brand new 08 Chevy single cab and lowered it and took the blocks out and it was perfect to 1/8 of an inch. I didnt think the gas tank could throw it off that much

The chevy lean is worse on the NBS trucks. My 2006 sierra long bed 2wd truck had a decent lean when it had 35 gallons of fuel in it.

You could use the bottom hole on the shackle for just that side if there came with 2 different lowering holes. They also make some sort of spacer for the front coil spring to help level that side out but I never looked into doing that.

MOOG has a set of coil springs to fix the Chevy lean. Part number 60150. Driver side spring has one more coil than the passenger side. I’ve used them and they worked for me.

but with one side having a taller spring than the other it won't throw off the alignment? One guy told me to put a shackle bolt in one set of holes and the opposite on the other side and another guy told me that was the worst idea because it would throw off the alignment

Do what you want. You got people telling you how to fix it but you're still wanting to debate it.

The 'chevy lean' affects millions of NBS trucks and there are only so many ways to fix it.

Either way you do it, just have it realigned. It’ll be fine.
