Time for some new heads!

What do you guys recommend I do? I was thinking of getting some trickflow 205 heads, but the thought of 243s also sound good. What setups are you guys running? I mostly do roll racing, so top end power is good. Thanks in advance guys.

317s are the same as 243s but have a larger chamber I think and are cheaper.

You could mill the 317s and run a thinner gasket and probably be at the same compression level as 243s but may save you a few bucks.

What's your budget and what is the bottom end?

You have said in the past that you already have ported and polished heads, why would you think you are already outflowing them and need different cylinder heads??

Seems silly to waste money like that but it's not my choice.

Upgrading to a NNBS intake over the NBS intake sounds like a better way to pick up horsepower and getting a new tune done.

A buddy of mine wants to buy my 706 heads that's why and I'm looking for opinions on what I should upgrade to. I have a budget of 800$ or maybe 1000$

Furdkiller 07-17-2016 05:32 PM

Bottom end is a 5.3 block

BlueTexan24 07-17-2016 06:13 PM

Trickflows are gonna need more budget lol

Furdkiller 07-17-2016 06:26 PM

So 243 are the way to go?

FFDP 07-17-2016 07:18 PM

243/799's either or, whatever you can find will work. They are basically some of the best flowing stock heads they ever made.

If your 706 are ported and polished, your gonna lose HP swapping to stock 243s. Or if you get 243s then have to pay for port and polish, your gonna have more then 800 in them.
