Default Ford 9" grand national floater hub rear end question

I bought a winters quick change ford 9" rear end with floater hubs on it, obviously this came its the NASCAR circle track spec 5/8 inch threaded wheel studs, which are two big for my street rod style billet wheel stud opening. Mu question is I guess, is there anyway to get a 1/2 inch stud into that hub? That's the end result, and I have done tons of research on wheel studs stepping down in size, dealt directly with winters they won't sell me new hubs that are undrilled or even new hubs that are drilled for 1/2 inch studs, I don't know what to do, coming up dry at every angle, any help to remedy this situation is appreciated.

My only thought is to helicoil the threaded holes down to half inch and screw in some half inch studs and call it a day! Not my favorite idea but I got nothin else!

Thanks guys for any direction on this...
