Default 4.11 with 28 inch tire

4.11 gears with a 28 inch tire? I was suggested 4.56 gears with my 28 inch tire to lock my converter up sooner. I do a lot of highway driving though. What do you guys think?
Thank you

My half ton was geared with 4.10's and a 28" tire. I liked it, and it was fine on the highway.

I preferred 3.90s with 29" with 4l60 od but I like being able to cruise at 78-80. 4.10s and 28s wouldn't be bad at a little slower.

This makes no sense. You control the lockup. You can lock the converter at 25mph or 125mph. It's not tire size dependent.

What a 28in tire will do is cause you to run a few more rpm's.

I know this, I have my lock up set up at 45 when I'm cruising. WOT is 108 and my tuner said he can't make lockup happen sooner because the rpm will be too low. That's why I'm asking about a gear change. No track time, all street, so 4.11 or 4.56 guys? The tires are 28 inches 275/55/17

it it's all street and no track, definitely go with the 4.10 or 3.73. I didn't see a difference between those two gears at the track with my combo...atleast that combo works good here in texas where our speed limit is 75-80 on highways which means people are actually driving 85-90.
