Question ZL1 Swap: Return Style w/Walbro 450 and Aeromotive FPR....Am I missing anything?

Hey guys, almost finished collecting the various parts needed for my 6.0/ZL1 blower/4L80e swap in my 2003 RCSB (Z71). I bought a Walbro 450 fuel pump and Aeromotive boost referenced FPR too. I have searched some, but most guys are retaining the stock FPR on the return style fuel rail. The ZL-1 setup has custom return less style rails, so I planned on putting the FPR in the engine compartment right where the stock feed and return lines are located and then connecting the outlet from the FPR to the inlet on the rails. This way the FPR can respond quickly to demand as needed when the hammer goes down.

If my idea is flawed, please let me know.

Thanks guys.

You're on the right track. That's exactly what I am doing as well. I am using -6 for feed and return, with a 255 feeding an 044 on a Hobbs switch. Using the quick release to -6 fitting adapters to retain the stock fuel pump "hat".

I was going to retain the stock feed and return fuel lines. Single 450 Pump too. I am not aiming for super high power goals, especially when the stock ZL1 56# injectors are being used. Just my daily driver....

Your idea sounds solid to me.

You will have to get creative to attach the stock lines to the Aeromotive, but it is possible.

From the Aero to the rail, I would just use -6 stuff, you'll need 2' of line, couple fittings and the 3/8 female to -6 male to adapt the rail. Should be like $40 in parts. I can't really see an easier method.

The 56# injectors will support ~600 with enough pressure and an aggressive enough tune. That's gonna be a stout daily!

If anyone has another suggestion for another boost referenced FPR, I am all ears.

How would you adapt this to a return less system?
