Walbro 450 stock wiring harnesses
#14
I've ran the 450 to it's absolute max. The more voltage you can get to it the better it will do. Using the stock wiring to trigger a relay, then having it rewired direct to the alt or battery is whats up.
On mine I had it rewired and used a BAP, so I had the dream of 14v always, with 18 when needed, and the ability to go to 22. The walbro wires didnt care for 22 much and I ended up with a fried unit, which was fine as it's 100 bucks and I had something to dissect.
Here's what I ended up with. The bolt into it is punching the relief valve, which probably won't apply to anyone here, but losing the puny walbro wires and doing it right may be of interest. Mine is now fully 10 gauge, so the wires will take the 22v - to only expose another to be determined weakness :].

Had the truck on the dyno today and at about 6000rpm i had fuel pressure go from 58lb down to 38lb? Only making 556 at the tire right now i know the pump can handle more then that stoke wiring issue?
