Default Help me decide on a plan for fuel system

I would like some opinions on how to proceed in my current build. I've built this truck for the past few months and I'm ready to get it on the road for the first time so I can learn the truck.

I'll start by explaining the current setup:
  • 5.3 with 76mm Trick Turbo
  • Stock flex fuel truck so it has stainless rails and LS2 EV6 injectors
  • 7psi spring in wastegate right now, no boost controller yet

My future plans are:
  • E85 fuel
  • Holley hi-ram with their -8 rails
  • Large injectors
  • -8 feed and either -6 return or stock feed as return
  • Dual pumps in stock bucket, either 255+450 or two 450s
  • Aftermarket FPR with boost reference after the rails
  • Possibly an external inline filter along the frame
  • Boost controller and probably a spring change
My question is, without going to my future plans just yet, what should I do to get this truck on the road and learn the truck? What I don't want to do is have to buy things twice, but I don't think LS2 length injectors fit in a hi-ram...?

Should I put a 255 or 450 in tank with venturi drilled out stock fuel lines and rails and some 80lb injectors and just get it tuned on 7psi? What would you guys do in my situation?

How much power are you shooting for? The do it once solution would be dual 450s with 127 or 160lb injectors, that will be good to roughly 1000rwhp. Might also suggest doing a fuel cell if you are one of those that run the tank completely dry between fillups.

Dont worry about injector height, you can get spacers or whatever you need, thats easy.

I am not chasing certain numbers, but I will do whatever the tuner is comfortable doing on the setup. If I leave the truck as-is I don't even know if a stock 5.3 on 7psi with 93 octane will get into the 500s.

In the future, I don't see myself getting into the 800+ range, but 600-700 would be nice.

To keep things simple, I would like to be able to get injectors that can be used on both my stock manifold and the hi-ram, then do a single 450 in tank with stock lines. Then get it tuned as it sits just to get bugs worked out and get it on the road. When I do upgrade, I can redo the bucket with dual 450s and at that time run all new ptfe -8 feed and do the external FPR... Does that sound like a feasible plan? I'm just ready to get it on the road and be able to go WOT. I haven't driven more than 100 miles since buying it in September, and haven't hit boost once...

That sounds a whole lot like doing it twice...

I should clarify, I meant buying parts twice. I would use the 450 and injectors in both setups, just labor to do the fuel pump. Swapping injectors is easy as can be. What I want to avoid is for example doing -6 ptfe lines and then make more power down the road and having to do it all again with -8...

So would large injectors and a single 450 work fine for stock returnless tuning at only 7psi?

Yea, that would be fine. Ive run 127s on a completely stock NA 5.3 before, just make sure you get them from somewhere good and not off ebay.

I would get them from FIC.

127s would support 6-700 on e85 with dual 450s feeding them? Or should I go next step up in size?

127s with dual 450s on E85 at 20-25psi will support 1000rwhp. Look at the spreadsheet in the sticky I made if you want to play with numbers.

I’d go bigger on the fuel line, like -10/-12 feed and -10/-8 return. From all the companies I’ve talked to they say that you need big feed and return for e85 with decent power levels. You will also need to find a regulator that can support the larger fittings and flow. The rails will be fine

Some food for thought in that link to give you ideas on power goals and fuel delivery
