Gas pedal swap

Doing the v6 to v8 swap. 03 Silverado cable gas pedal. Need to install the drive by wire pedal. Do I have to remove the metal frame work that the cable pedal is built into? What is the best way to swap them?

I pulled the whole brake and gas pedal assembly when I swapped the 6.0 in a classic truck. Just made the swap easier not having to worry about alignment and making sure the gas pedal moved through full WOT

Yes you will have to pull the brake pedal plate from the fire wall in order to use the DBW setup.
