This is what I had planned to do. I thought having a set constant fuel pressure was the way to do it. Going with what my tuner says and will be using boost referencing.

With boost, it is very important and beneficial to reference it, or you will have to massively oversize your injectors.
Agreed. Vac/boost ref is actually the easy/simple way, if you have no ref then you have to scale your injector tables like a returnless system.

so with boost referenced, where do you set the fuel pressure at idle?

Disconnect the ref and set fp to 58psi, then reconnect the ref. That way your fp is always set static to 58psi and vac/boost adjust it accordingly.

Wherever you want. Factory LS setting is (4bar) 58psi. If you run a **** ton of boost or huge injectors you may set base pressure at something less, 3bar (42psi) is common.

Mines at 48. As long as your injector tables are tuned to match then do as you please. There is a happy medium depending on the fuel system and boost level.

With 58 base I didn’t want my pressure at wide open being mid 70’s so I lowered it.

Pump output decreases and amp draw increases. On gas my injectors are plenty big enough. In process of adding another pump for E85 so I’ll turn pressure back up then.

does any of these methods change with a large dose of methanol injection in boost? as in static 58 psi with 30+ gph

carburetors are so up my alley. set it and run it without all the drama LOL.

No. Not as long as the meth is stand alone. They are two separate systems
