Nissan titan performance?
Are there good bolt on parts for these trucks and good performance potential? The local dealer had a sign that said they were doing 8,000 off of nissan titans and i'm gonna go look at them today.

Titan is playing catch up since the market change. Basic bolt 2wd will get you low 14's. Cams are another $2000 for another good drop in time, then $4500 or so for a trans. Performance is there at twice the price of chevy parts.
Great trucks when they came out, since then everyone has newer models. If you want something you can offroad then a titan is perfect(lots of long travel stuff and great coil over support). If I could get myself a work truck a titan would be it. Cheap, can tow, and built fairly well. Also I would say it will last longer than a chevy, nissan has really done a good job on the titans after the long production run. |

I believe the ford lightning does better then that I don't doubt that the nissan will last a long time, but i think argueing the longevitiy is kinda tough to say, we've seen that both can make trucks that last damn near forever. If anything i'd say its a marginal difference on each side |
even fully modded mine gets better than 13mpg.. it gets closer to 14-15 in town and 18-19 on the highway
bout the same as any fullsize 5,600 lb truck |
theres a guy i know here who races one. full exhaust, intake, tune, lsd, ran mid 13s at sar. not bad and he gets better than 13 on the highway. who said 13mpg?? i almost bought a titan but couldnt find a good deal on one and i found my truck as a repo so i pulled the trigger on my gmc. titans have good power for a stock truck but im glad i went gm bc they are cheaper to make fast. how much would the monthly payments be on a new chevy 6.2 if you got 10k for ur truck and put 9k down?

My bro-n-law had a crew-cab 4wd and it got terrible mileage for a 1/2 ton truck IMO. He did average 14.6 with a mix of town and highway driving (prolly 70%city/30%highway).

I know this is old but still. Whining about just short of 15 mpg essentially city mileage....... Please...... it's a truck, not a Prius. Probably half of the 4.8 GM's on this board can't better that.
Seem like a really decent truck, have aftermarket support, and don't want mid 20's for a 6+ year old POS truck riddled with defects like the retard GM owners up here....... I tossed an airaid MXP4 4" intake, Magnaflow muffler, Nismo 160*F thermostat, and Hypertech 93 octane program. Truck has run 14.20s @ 95 in the 1/4. Ran at a better hooking track in the 1/8 with gutted secondary cats and ran 8.86 on a 1.98s 60'. |
Reviving the Dead!
Quickest Stock Cammed N/A Titan: 13.180@102.31. 12's N/A Stock Cams are coming. Couple more bolt on's and the right weather. |
There is a great aftermarket for the Titan. Intakes, exhaust, cams and tuners both custom and canned will get this truck into the 13's easy and a few in the 12's. Great forum here glad I joined. :)

Looks like things are changing in the Nissan world. Support is finally catching up.
|
The aftermarket for the Titan is way greater than the Tundra just cost more than a domestic unfortunately.
