Hey guys i have a 2000 F250 with a Triton 5.4L that i got from my pops after he died. Not sure if there is a difference between the 5.4l in the F150 and the F250. The truck is kinda a dog and wondering whats available for it. Looking for mild mods since i do use the truck to tow occasionally. The truck already has an intake, but wondering if going with accel coils would be worth it. Also if you guys have any other recommendations.

Hey there,

The 5.4 in the F150 and F250 are identical. My advice, stick to the basics, intake, exhaust and a tune. The coils would likely not be worth it and you wouldn't feel a difference. Get some electric fans in it and maybe some underdrive pulleys. Long tube headers and a high flowing muffler/cat would help as well.

Also, look into re-gearing it. If it is a 2wd, it will have an 8.8 and those are a piece of cake to setup.

I figured but wanted to be sure. Ill stick with what you recommended and later on, see if putting a lightning sc on it would be worth it.
