Wrap vs Ceramic coating
Will the Ceramic Coating help keep the underhood temps down just as much as the wrap?

Compare it next time you get a chance, radiant heat is lower with wrapping. I've tried all the coatings, always went back to wrapping when underhood temps are a concern. Not that coating doesn't work, it does great. |
Is it worth doing both?

I have stainless hot pipes except the log manifold
|
Id just wrap them with some good wrap, no cheap wrap. I had some cheap wrap come apart within a week. I sealed my DP and turbo manifold with some good wrap, and have had no problems, now on the other hand. My crossover, was wrapped with a cheap brand of wrap, and it came apart.

If you decide to go with the wrap just use regular hose clamps to hold the wrap in place. They work a lot better than DEI's wrap ties but just doesn't look as professional. If you do end up going with the DEI ties, I could sell you mine that I didn't use on my hotpipes. :secret2:

Would just having the pipes ceramic coated be enough? Or would wrap still need to be used?

i like to use safety wire to hold my wrap on
|
^^ me to. If you've ever done any MX racing and wired your grips on just do the same on the wrap. Works great and ALOT cheaper than the stainless ties
