Need one from a 05-07 to have the good rods and be plug and play. Some of the 04s have em but there's no way to tell without opening it up

my cam is also ruined so if any one knows wher ei can get a 02-04 ls6 cam and lifters please speak up. not sure why it left go, i was running more boost then it was dynoed at but the afr still looked good , and it was the last two cyl so im guessing maybe the meth dont get to the back two cyl as well as the front and middle ones. she ran a bunch of passes at this boost level and went a 9.24 at 150 as a best.

Yes, 2004 and up engines have the beefy rods. However, not all MODEL years have 2004 engines. 2004 trucks can have engines manufactured in 2003. If you want to be safe, best to look for an 05 and up engine.

Sucks that it blew...get a newer one in there for a couple bucks and give it hell. I want to see where the LS2 rods give out... I took mine to 22psi before I pulled it out in good condition to replace with a 6.0. She's still waiting on an engine stand as backup

Busted #7 gives me a little hope on it being a heat/tune issue but the bent rods is a tough one.. lol

How was the air/fuels and what kind of timing did you have to the girl?

Best of luck on the next one and mind sharing the some pics of the rods?

it was both rear cylinders not just number 7 i didnt post a pic of the other cause it looked the exact same. i forget the timing we put in it but it was considered a safe number at 17 psi but i was at 19 for a while . afrs are around 10.9. all the rods are bent, this probably lowered my compression even more allowing it to live at 19 as long as it did. my theory is the meth dont get back there as well with the fast intake. i plan on adding a half to full ib of fuel pressure with the new set up since i dont own hp tuners , that should richen it up a little more.
