The Ford is modern technology. 4 valves per cylinder, DOHC, twin/independent VVT. And it's no secret that since the very beginning the Ford modular V8s were really designed to run with forced induction. The Teksid blocks in vehicles as early as '95 or so(maybe '93 in the Mark VIII?) were 1000HP+ capable. But they are more complicated and more expensive. It's hard to argue with what GM has done with pushrods but beyond DI, I think they are going to have to give up on the SBC(basically) to get to the next level.
That being said, I'm playing with GMs right now because I like the looks and simplicity.

In 1972 my dad gave me a 65 or 66 Mustang Fastback 289. I was so prejudiced against Fords I sold it for $300. I really think now it is foolish to be so blind to something because its different. Kind of like not liking someone because of ethnicity imho. I've had 8 Camaro's, several Nova's, a couple Chevelle's, numerous Chev trucks and a ZO6 and I wish I hadn't sold that Mustang fastback still.

The post has the f150 looking pretty impressive, after seeing this post last night I cruised the f150 forums and they talk a lot about this set up and guys ordering kits but no real true tests no track vids and it was like whipple has held off releasing the kit.And different opinions on real test HP numbers,it could be they are finding the weak link in these 018 engines,it used to be the rods at 600hp on the boosted 5.0 trucks a couple years back.

VMP has a bunch of video's talking in depth about there Roush F-150. I know its not a wipple but 11.50 on stock tires. With only headers, roush exhaust and a custom tune is damn impressive. That's no cam, no larger fuel pump, supplied injectors. 620 rwhp

After watching some more of their video's 11.50 was on 12lbs of boost and around 650 rwhp. They said anything more than alittle over 650 they start breaking drive shafts. But it's a consistent mid 11's truck.
