i'll see if'n i can find it. i do remember he had one of the first 14rib rear pulleys & had the blower turning well over 20k rpm!

ps - what kind of gains did you see with your spacer? i saw results for the 1" ones in Janetty's camaros & Ray's truck, but headn't seen/heard of enough thinner ones being used. i've only got clearance for 1/2" at best.

Mine sees 21-22k rpm. The spacer helped with heat soak and some with iat. I don’t there is much to gain with it unless your really working it. I opened up the intercooler openings, Maggie’s stock opening is really small, am running a LPE varimax pump and dual HX. My iats even with the 2.6 pulley only climb 28-30 deg on a 0-110 pull.

If the opportunity pans out I may drop a 2.9 head unit on with nothing else changed and see what the difference is.

What about a 3.4L whipple? Double check me, but I remember the whipple lightning guys going from a 2.3 to a 3.4L using the same base plate and it was a direct swap mechanically. I know the stock lightning kits have the intake tube on the driver's side, but the whipple cobra cars that I have seen at the track have the j-tube on the passenger side. I wonder if you could use the 2.3 base plate, and then swap to the 3.4 (using a GM friendly snout/one from the 2.3 your taking off)........then use the passenger routed J-tube from a cobra. The TB might need an adapter to go onto it if the bolt pattern is different. I also remember there was someone making modified/custom J-tubes that were bigger for the Lightning guys at some point too. That company could probrably EASILY just make you a passenger side J-tube that has a GM TB flange on it. The BIG power whipple lightnings that I remember seeing had the different J-tube on them anyways.

Anyone remember that company's name from the aftermarket J-tubes?
