No need to trim the cap.

Mine touched the turbo blanket with no ill effects, no melting.

With T4 turbine housing, the long fill cap fits. T6 housing requires the flat cap.

I can't get the cap on and off at all with it in the factory form.

That is how I have ran it for the last two years. Not a big deal for my venting because I am trying to change things back from the way you mentioned. IT is a HUGE pain in the *** to put oil in this thing with the fill point in the back. I had to buy a long smaller funnel. Not like the funnel is expensive but it is super slow and hard to keep crap clean.

By gosh, I can make you as many as you want! 50 bucks each.

Don't be jealous of my custom work. I got plenty to spare for you!

This might work! I didn't think about that. I would have to change my drain line since I have it so tight, but that would be worth it. I will see if I can find a t4 flange in town and see if that is enough to make it work.

I know it's tight but you should be able. Obviously remove the turbo blanket

What a/r is your turbine housing?

Raising turbo will change your down pipe as well.

Are those centerbolt or perimeter bolt valve covers? If they're center bolt, can't you just swap it to drivers side with fill point to the front?

The valve covers are not symmetric in that direction. You would have to flip them around so the fill would be in the back corner.

With a stock oil fill cap even with the blanket off the turbo it is impossible to put the cap on and off the valve cover.

My turbo is a cast s480 T4 80/87 1.25ar
