Time to go twin turbo.
I think it's time to try a twin setup. Wondering how twin magnum 7675's would work with a 5.7 with triple 12 cam. I would like this setup to spool up quick and be capable of 800 hp to the wheels. I already have one 7675 so figured I get some opinions on turbo selection. Let me know what you think.

That’s a lot of turbo for twins, I would think something like twin 6266’s on a 5.7 would even take you along ways. Idk |

Most likely more turbo than needed. I have a Trick twin kit sitting here for the day I find the right truck but I had it setup for Borg S257sxe's (57/61's) but will be going with a 6.0 most likely. I believe that those turbos will light very quickly, give me a good power band up to 6300-6500rpm, and should be no problem 800whp or better.
A guy I talked with said he made 740/810 @ 16psi on a 6.0 with the S251's which are sized a bit smaller the the SXE models (47lbs./min. vs 65lbs./min airflow) and Borg rates the S257sxe's at 625hp. Another combo - 383 with a pair of cast Turbonetics 6265's on a manual transmission made 1012/972 @ 19psi. Said the turbos made more steam (around 1200whp) on a smaller cubic inch engine. Just to give you an idea for comparisons |
Thanks guys. Glad I asked the cheap side of me wanted to only buy one turbo :). So I'll check around for 6265 or 6266's. What about wastegates? How do I size them? Just go by the size of the turbo's? I'm thinking of using a treadstone trttc9 intercooler and turbosmart raceport bov.

I would talk to a expert before buying any specific turbos. It’s all about airflow, how much power do you wanna make? And what rpm do you wanna turn? It seems you need roughly 10lb/min of air for every 100hp at the flywheel, someone please correct me if I am wrong. |

Check speed engineering's new twin kit. Turbonetics 64mm turbos, you can get a bigger turbine AR (.85 I think) to get the power you want. $3999 complete.

I already have trick performance manifolds. If I didn't I probably would have purchased that kit just to try it out.

The gate size would be 39mm or 40mm 2 bolt config. Thats what your pipes are set up for.. 7675 way to big for turbos for small hp. Tha's a 1200+ set up easy. 6266 can make 1000 through a slipping converter. And would would well, anything in the low 60's range is fine for 800hp. I have a inexpensive twin core I could sell you. would fit the truck and power goal. or if you want a treadstone core we are a dealer for them. Bov Turbosmart have one on the shelf or the raceparts solutions. We could set you a nice discounted price, for these parts for being a returning customer. just saying. :) Rick |

Could always ask the people that built the kit. LOL
