STS turbo lag video...

Here is a video that shows how a STS system spools. Make sure to read the description of the video as it has some good info.

nice video

What size turbo? Actually that spools as fast or faster than my front mount T76, but Im at 7000' elv. Probably take a lot longet to hit 12psi though.

It's a 60-1 with a .81 AR turbine housing

I hate to break this to you but a 60-1 with a .81 a/r is rediculously small and the fact that it took till 3000 rpm to make a whopping 6 psi reinforces the fact that rear mounts have more lag than a front mounted turbo.

This video wasn't made to start a pissing contest but rather let people know close to first hand how the STS system spools. You could find many people on the forum that beleive they spool up just fine and make gobs of power.

I for 1 am running a 76mm turbo with a .96 A/R and I am at full boost by 3200. Thats all done with a 8.8:1 compression ratio. Bottom line is that the STS system works and like every other power adder it has it pluses and minuses.

I had a GT-67 (.96 a/r) a partial wrapped exhaust with a bone stock 5.3 with no lag issues. Of course that same set-up with a lq4 and some valve springs only went 11.41 @ 119....
