Stock stall with Radix 112 guys chime in!

Those of you with a Radix on there truck, preferably the 5.3l and stock stall how does it perform? I've searched and came up with a few members stating that it is great but would like to hear first hand. I'm looking ot buy a Radix for my 2006 Crew Cab right now. I would install a shift kit and vette servo but was thinking of leaving the stock verter in for a few reasons. Hastle, money, drivetrain issues and if I decide to tow. Mostly just the install hastle even though I know its not that bad. KISS (keep it stock stupd) HAHAHA

I got 4.10's and gonna put pacesetter long tubes, x pipe and true duals with it.

My thoughts are this, the maggie produces insane ammounts of torque even at 2k so why is a verter really needed? I know even something like a TB I6 verter would be great and thought of that route but really considering atleast just trying out the stocker with a shift kit and vette servo and going from there.

Thoughts and opinions please, mostly for those who have atleast tried it as well as those with the smaller stalls like a TB I6, etc.

Thanks in advance :D

When I was running the radix in my 5.3 suburban with stock stall and maggie tune it was a great addition. excellent fuel improvment on long hauls along with excellent acceleration down low.It drove great.Worth every penny.
Stock stall worked great even with pulley changes. If you do decide to stall it,2600 stall would be the Max i would go
Caught the mod bug!then everything went nuts!

Stock stall if you keep it mild and drag racing isn't your big thing. My cuurent converter is stalled to 2800.

I also had no issues with the stock stall but not too sure how long it may last with more mods. I think it would be good insurance to upgrade.

Stick with the stock converter. You don't need a running jump to get your truck started. You'll need the money for your first tranny rebuild. Don't f'k with the '60. Go straight to the '80. You'll be time and money ahead.

I would definately try out the stock stall first. My 2600 will blow the tires off 1st & halfway thru 2nd with 12" Mickey Thompson radials.

I’m still running the stock converter and have had no problems for 40,000 miles, the only time I think a higher stall may be better is in the summer on 100+ deg days launching in 4WD, but on a 65 deg day its just plain violent.

I love my 2600 stall, way better than stock imo

glad i saw this thread, cause i have been thinking about the same thing. Im trying to build/plan out how to get my truck into the 13's without any problems. Im interested in the Radix from magnacharger but i would keep my stock stall and get a FLT trans most likely and get it retuned again. Is that good enough? with just adding the radix and a upgraded trans will i love the power? just some posts make it seem to really see the difference you need the stall and cam with it......but i would think not

Stock stall run here for several months on and off. With the current mods it would flash to 2800-3000. 2-3 mpg better fuel economy over my PI. Maybe .1 better 60' times with the PI. Much harsher shifts with a shift kit on the stocker. Don't know that I would lock the stock converter at the track long. The stock converters are great IMO.
