I've ran into postings on other forums about people using Mobil 1 5w30 but it is a lot heavier grade than the Procharger oil. They were more concerned about making it run quieter so they have been trying it on units with high nileage. Overall, they seemed pleased and a couple had been doing it for 20-30k miles.

I spoke to a freind a while back at Red Line Oil about using their 0wt or 5wt Racing synthetic in a Procharger. They said most light grade oils would work but there may be some issue with foaming during extended periods of high RPM (rcing conditions). They said the Procharger Oil is a type of Turbine Helicopter Oil (made for continuous 60k+ RPM's operations). Go price the cost of having Procharger rebuild your unit beause the bearings got thrashed from an oil that wasn't up to their specs and you will order a 3pk of Procharger oil. I know I did.

The price of that Procharger oil is highway robbery. So glad I ditched that blower long ago, not to mention it loved eating up the internal seals.

Wow I just sent my D1 back to ATI with a blown out seal, 700 mi on it!
Their're trying to tell me it's my fault for not running a big enough bpv! Total BS, I bought everything right from them and when I upgraded they never said anything about a bigger valve.

If you haven't already shipped it, replace the seal yourself. Napa Auto parts carry them in stock somewhere around $20. I'm at work so you will have to do a search on the internet for the part number.

If they have it, you haven't complained loud enough and high enough up the food chain. You were only running 10lbs boost and they sell the standard BPV with their D-1SC kits.

From the Modular Depot Forums:

Just an update. I talked with the procharger guys again today. The output shaft seal is the same as the input shaft (Napa part #11625).

I've already replaced the input shaft seal. It only took me like 5 minutes. It’s so easy, it’s not funny. I'm going to take the impeller off, and replace the other seal as well.

I guess if I have to do this every couple of years it’s not so bad. I definitely wouldn't spend $400 to have procharger fix it. If anyone needs some pics on how to change the seal let me know while I have the blower apart.
