"Service Brake Booster" do i need a check valve?

I am getting a DIC message saying "Service Brake Booster". Do i need to add a check valve inline to the booster?

What year is your truck?
I had this issue and had to get my cluster reprogrammed. (04 model)
But it was not related to the blower. It was a software issue.

I believe the brake boosters have a built in check valve.

2004 and it has that weird thing attached to the booster.

Yes, you are putting pressure in that line if not.

I was told it had nitrogen in it for emergency use. Not 100% though.

It should already have a check valve which lets air out of the booster but not in. It's the 90 deg black plastic piece that connects the hose right to the booster. Thats what it look like on mine at least ('01 5.3L).

His booster is different then yours, his is like mine and has that canister attached that the vac. line hooks to. I am not exactly sure what it does either. Rick that sounds legit...Who knows.

Yeah, if the truck dies while moving that little thing runs like a vac pump I think to help with the brakes.
