Sell me on which FI method.....

So, I want to boost my truck before year end.

Current mods

ATK HP93 engine with 218/224, .551/.551 cam on 114. Circle D 3200. 1 3/4 LTs, high flow cats, dumped and 4.11s.

I've read about every comparison I can find. I'm leaning towards Magnacharger but am unsure of how it will drive with the Circle D 'verter. It's loose.

I like the idea of insta-torque at any RPM. Is the lag with the Procharger a problem?

This is strictly a DD, street vehicle. It might see the track once or twice.

Thanks

Procharger would have no lag its a belt driven supercharger just like a maggie.

Prochager and Maggie's are two completely different kinds of boost. Procharger gains boost as rpm increases and Maggie has full boost as soon as you step on the pedal through out the rpm range.

The procharger and maggie do make boost in completely different ways, but the procharger when built right can still be really snappy.it can still make nearly 5LBS instantly with no spool time like there would be with a turbo.

With as mild as what youre building sounds the maggie seems like your best option for the most possible power under the curve.

I'm thinking 8-10psi max.

Thanks so far fellas.

I have had both blower and turbo. The little MP112 blower was great at waking up the Vortech 5300 and gave lots of reliable service. (80,000 miles) Then I installed a single turbo and it was way more fun to drive. I was all worried about turbo lag but it had better driveability then the little blower setup. It was a Stock 5.3 with valve springs and push rods, safe tune 14 PSI boost. Lots of fun for a 5300 lbs SSR truck. Blower 14.4, Turbo 12.4 1/4 mile times. It was fun. Now I'm doing a twin turbo forged MID 427 project in the same truck.

RIDE in trucks with the kind you want first!!! Turbo lag... PSSSSH , my arse!!! All system can be snappy. How snappy you want a light rear pick em up? My lil truck jus dynoed over 600/600 @ 4 k rpm.
I have 3 words for ya, turbo , turbo, turbo.

I know this is a old post but I’m looking at buying this crate engine and was just wondering what you thought of it?
