I was wandering if there are any twin turbo charger kits for the 06 chevy 5.3L? If not do you think I could use the twin turbo kit from the corvette knowing I would have to do some fabrication work?

**note: these are all based on the Lysholm kits and all is subject to change with the new in house compressor**

Strengths:
1. Very high abidactic efficiency -- more than the radix according to the source (WHIPPLE...), but it is not really an apples to apples comparison. A/E is affected by ambient temp, and is pretty tightly coupled to the compressor variables -- so until we see data from a controlled test of similar boost levels in the same ambient conditions)
2. Complete kit
3. Instant torque from 1500 rpm up
4. In the upper rpms, this is probably more efficient than a radix
5. at ~15psi the abidactic efficiency is much better than the radix at the same boost (whereas 7psi vs 7psi the A/E favors the radix)

Weaknesses:
1. No intercooler
2. ECM is a piggy back system
3. Only comes with two add on injectors
4. Customer service leaves a lot on the table
5. No resale value -- Whipple requires s/cs to be evaluated and updated in order to flash the computer... I was told this always leads to at least $1500 in charges by a whipple employee
6. Parasitic loss
7. belt slippage
8. Needs full exhaust for maximum potential
9. pulley change to change boost


update for any whipple potential users from a Whipple owner...
cs is getting better-but your better on your own
Do away with the piggy back system- a must
Add Marine injectors
Use Meth injection to cool intake air to add more boost and timing
Pulley change takes 10 mins and $120
Do a custom tune and decrease Torque management for full effect

Do the exhaust system no matter what system you use
Remember anything can be tweaked to make it work better than out of the box !

Would the sts shine over the radix in a street race because all that torque down low can't be used on street tires but the sts mid and upper power is put to full use. Something I have been thinking about awhile. I go to the track now and again. But I see a redlight every day!

Thats the way I feel. ON the street all the low end tq goes up in smoke and the sts will pull harder up top then the radix any day of the week AND lower IATs :judge:

Good point...the Procharger also shines on the top end after traction has already been established. Just have to be cautious on the launch with the Procharger if you have a big stall (3k+) beacuse the engine will flash and get into boost almost instantly, blowing away street tires.

what about the Livernois turbo kit? does anyone have any info on it? I didn't see anything on it besides a guy that had installed it on his SUV.

how does it compare to the others? or more importantly, the STS kit?

The Livernois is more complete than the STS isn't it? or am I mistaken?

You should contact them, Last I heard, they took it out of production for a redesign of one of the headers to make more room for plug changes and haven't ever put it back into production. That was probable about a year ago now. Let us know if you find out anything.
