My 16 is getting a D1X in the very near future and a set of TSP long tubes and cats. I have HP Tuners already. My problem is finding someone to tune it in Austin.

dedicated motorsports can tune it here local.. I am in austin too. I am wanting to do the exact setup on my truck.. Thinking of doing black bear tune for the long tubes and then have them do a mail order tune for the d1 as well.. curious on power numbers and overall drive ability with that setup though with a bone stock motor

Get a local tune over black bear.

Unless you like getting the run around, waiting days or possibly weeks for re-tunes. Sometimes I wonder if they know what they are doing sometimes. Mail order tunes are bologna if you ask me on a setup like this, nobody can ever just guess what the truck is going to like. It needs to be either tuned on a loaded dyno or on the streets in real time.

If the motor was bone stock, drive ability won't change, it's going to act like a stock truck until you lay your foot into it.

Hit up pat g. If you already have hp tuners or efi live he can remote tune it. He does a damn good remote tune too.

I already have a remote tune in the truck. I just don't have another truck and trailer to haul it 200 miles to strap it on the dyno. Remote/mail order tune with boost....No thanks. Lawrence @ LSXpower has been doing the tuning and is doing a great job. Truck will smoke the tires thru 2nd and is still pulling at 135 mph.

This is my DD as well and I commute 45 miles each way to work. Not worried about headers and the blower for daily. It will be fun!

Well i will have to do it all in stages so I am doing the headers and catted y first and will need a tune for that.. In a few months the blower will go on and i will need another tune for that.. I'll look into pat G.. I know he has done a bunch of tuning for friends in the past.

its not, I don't plan on opening up the motor at this point so I will likely leave it on a 91 tune for now until I do more down the road and get a better fuel system and a larger fuel lobe with a cam
