procharger exhaust setup
I'm putting together a heads cam 6.0 with a D1SC in my RCSB 2WD and debating on going true dual 3 inch with x-pipe or a single 4 inch diesel exhaust I'm also running 1-7/8 long tubes with a 3-inch collector FYI
im kinda leaning towards the 3 inch duals since i think it will sound better but I'm open to whatever will make the most power and sound the best |
2.75" duals work wonderful on my stock 6.0L CCSB, It's got an X-pipe muffler (3" DI/DO Jones Max Flow SS) and both pipes dumped.
A supercharger setup would absolutely love that particular setup, especially with no cats and straight-thru mufflers. |
I have a few sound clips on youtube of my set up. mangler0075

Thanks, the bullet was just WAY WAY to loud. LOL
|
what you running for a muffler now
|
It was on there also. It is a now discontinued Edelbrock diesel muffler, exhasut dumped at the bumper. 4'' all the way no converters. Also have some incab vids for guys that previously wanted to hear what it sounded like inside.

I'm running a 4 MBRP setup and love it! I had magnaflow single 3 inch system and it had a bad drone at 2K. My new duramax system is deep around town with no drone on the highway... And if you want it a tillte quieter, just add a FTE resonator.

Sorry, no vid's of my setup... The part number is S6000409. There's a member here that has great deals on these systems also.... If you decide to get one pm me and I will get you his username.

do you guys have any pics of your y-pipe setups
|
Interesting on the MBRP exhaust... no drone huh? And its not too loud? Everything I have heard suggests for something you actually put a couple miles on a 4" is kind of obnoxious. I'm suspicious lol
|
My wife hated driving in my truck during long roadtrips due to the drone. I installed the MBRP system and diid not tell her, then we took a 120 mile trip to the city and she asked how I got rid of the drone..... I would like to quiet down the idle a little more.. I plan on installing a 12 inch resonator....

Do you have cats?
|
I run long tubes with 3" collectors into true dual 3" with an X pipe and dual 6x18" round Magnaflow mufflers plus high flow cats...I love the way it sounds but I'm about to add some small resonators to the pipes to try to kill the drone....it's a little much at 70+ mph.

I think my truck sounded pretty good with the single 4". It wasn't bad just driving around normal. No cats.
Here is a link to my photobucket page with all the racing vids. All these vids are with a single 4". Blown06 Track Vids Photos by Blown06_photos | Photobucket |
Blown06 your truck sounds good what brand exhaust were you running
|
It was 1 3/4 pacesetter, offroad y into a single 4" magnaflow (I think it was 16"). Some vids are with a tail pipe, some are with a turndown.
|
well i made my mind up I'm doing a magnaflow 4-inch turbo back exhaust i found one on EBAY for pretty cheap brand new with a pacesetter off road 3-inch y-pipe
|
Your not thinking right if you do not do your shit in stainless.
|
i don't drive the truck in the winter so I'm not to wearied about rust if i did drive it in the winter no questions asked id do stainless
|
Kurt do you have a link to the exhaust you found? I'm curious which one.
