Opinions on EPS spec'd turbo cam

226/226 604/604 lsl lobes 114or15 cant remember, notes are at the shop...6000lb daily driver truck with 3.23's and stock stall, lq4, 80e, Trick Flow 235's with 70cc chambers, lsxrt, nw 102...Front mount KB kit with 72mm bb magnum...Looking for a fun daily no racing, currently running a comp 212/218 high lift version. I've spent an hour, 3 or 4 different times on the phone with Geoff and he knows that I want something that isnt a turd out of boost and has a smooth idle and good drivebility, he originally spec'd a 230/230 and I shot that down real quick so he came back with this cam, I've overcammed and overstalled my daily's before and absolutley refuse to do that again, whats everyones thoughts on how this things going to drive? I'm afraid its a little too big for my tastes especially with the 235 heads and 9.5:1 scr. I'm REALLY tempted to just run the 212 and save this for a 408 when I pop this motor. Give me some feedback...Thank you!!!

I think you've got a good plan yourself. You will sacrifice a good bit of bottom end with those numbers. It's not a huge cam, but with the weight, gears, compression etc, you're going to want something small...

You won't like that cam in a 6K# truck with stock stall and 3.23 gears. It will have a mean idle though....If that doesn't blow your dress up, go smaller for sure. The lobes you describe aren't LSL lobes. More likely EPS's proprietary lobes or Comp's LXL lobes.

If you want your cam anytime soon, don't fool with EPS. He takes weeks to even order it. Once Comp gets the order, it's usually out the door in a couple of days. Order it direct from Comp or go through a vendor that will order it same day. You can save a few bucks going through a vendor. I think Comp charges around $430 + shipping if you order direct. I went through a vendor (not board sponsor) on my last cam order and it cost $379 shipped and I had the cam in less than a week.

I agree with your last statement, nothing over 212 for this setup, the said specd cam should work good in a 408 tho

I have that exact cam except on a 117 in my 402 and its perfect. Driveability is like stock and midrange is brutal. Pat G specd mine.

The lil 212 .561 112 and 215 .566 112 are proven good DD cams for 6.0's

im running the 215 on 114 lsa and love it in my stock LQ4. im running a 3.42 and stock TC.. I tow alot so i like good power down low around 2000rpms where it stays most the time
