on3 5.3 noob build
planning on doing a on3 kit for my 99 ECSB with the 70mm to start
starting to get everything together before i order the kit
317s
PAC 1218 valve spings
ls9 headgaskets
speed master head studs just because
stock bottom end
decapped injectors
trying to pick out a cam and it seems everyone is talking about
this Isky triple 12 turbo cam, found some cam clips and it sounds pretty mean
i guess ill default to an ls6 cam if anything but really want something with a
good lope to it and it sounds like there a lot of good results coming from them
so how many hoops to do have to jump through to get ahold of one of these cams
help me out here boys

I've personally bought things from both KB and trick they're top notch guys to deal with as are their products

i would definitely go read reviews for on3 they're horrible I've even talked in person to Performance shop who tried being a vendor for them and had tons of issues with kit fitments, boost creep, and horrible customer service to the point they sent back every kit they had for a return that they hadn't sold.

seems that mostly cracked manifolds and some other exhaust complaints but then there's guys throwing these things on and driving them with no complaints

I'm by no means trying to pimp anyone here, but I've had more than one person call me wish they had done that first... Just trying to give you fair warning for when the cheap comes out expensive.

On3 is cheap for a reason. A basic fact of life is there is no such thing as a free lunch. I see it in my industry too all the time. Pay now or really pay later and waste a ton of time and frustration. Good luck with your decision and build though!

Its a coin toss but not 50/50 you are way more likely to have problems then not. Just save a little more and get quality the first time. Ive delt with trick and kb both are great and stand behind there kits even when there is an issue. My buddy has a on3 kit for his mustang and has had nothing but problems. On3 will not answer his phone calls. No help at all.
