need help/info going turbo/68 c10

Im wanting to go turbo on my 68 c10 5.3 swap.

I plan to probably do a built 4l60 since Im not trying to make something with 700rwhp, mid high 300s to mid 400s is all Im looking for really. Might see the track once a year and I am not rough on a vehicle.

I dont have a preference between front or rear mount, whatever is easiest for a moderately mechanically inclined person to install without tons of custom fab work.

would a kit from a vendor for the 99-06 trucks be a pretty close fit minus maybe the down pipe and intercooler setup?

or should i go rear mount and fab up the piping(I think this would be easier, but then I gotta get a stand alone oil setup)?

also should I change my cam out, currently Im running a comp xr259hr 206/212 low lift on a 112.

Can someone give me a list of parts to buy? what size injectors I would need? Might see 12psi on the dyno but probably no more tha 7-8 on the street.

I have an inline fuel pump pulling from my fuel cell now that is supposed to be rated for 2k hp, would I need to change out the pressure regulator or really just the injectors.

I do not plan on meth or nitrous in the near future either.

what size converter?

should I throw in some 3.08s instead of the 3.73s just to benefit on long cruises and mpg?

I'm planning on doing the same thing to my '70 C10, so I have done quite a bit of research. What exhaust manifolds are you using right now? The problem with the 99-06 truck kits are that they are based on the stock truck exhaust manifold. Most people use TBSS or some manifold other than the truck manifold to clear the frame, so the turbo kits will not bolt on. You can always switch to the truck manifolds, but you'l have to notch the frame. I'm also not sure if the downpipes will fit, regardless if the crossover does or not.

Any of these injectors will be a direct fit, assuming you have a Gen III truck engine:

I have truck shorty headers right now.

60 lb injectors would be fine for what youre looking for

As for the regulator some people run the factory one and some have an external adjustable one like me, I did it because my tuner recommended it so he could have an easier time tuning

I used stock truck manifolds and just 180'd them, I was thinking about going with log style manifold for the 99-07. But wasnt 100% sure it would fit so we just fabbed up the crossover to the flange. It wasnt hard at all maybe 2 hours to get it where we liked it and then my buddy tig'd it one night.... I know its not pretty but it should do the trick. Its ceramic coated as well and seems to hold the heat good. I would consider removing the in cab tank and going to a fuel cell in back, external regulators are nice make sure its the 1:1 boost reference one. I'm running Siemens 60# injectors, 500 HP at the rear wheels is my goal. T

I would check out the LSX swap section of 67-72trucks.com, there are a few turbo builds in there..

he truck is a 56 Chevy cameo on a 72 c10 frame:
