Question In need of a better belt tensioner for my Silverado with a ZL1 Blower...

Just like the title says, getting belt slip above 5k on my ZL1/LSA blower swap. Would need to bolt in the factory location with regular truck spacing and stock truck tensioner.

Thanks guys!!!

Have you tried a smaller belt? I once had to roll a belt on mine with the Whipple.

How much boost? Is the crank pinned? If it's not pinned then that could cause the belt to load up and slip also.

Tried smaller and longer belts.

Not sure on how much boost. Stock LS3 Camaro crank pulley and a 6 rib 2.45" blower pulley (was on the blower when i bought it). Rest of specs in sig. Crank is pinned.

It tossed the belt this morning on the 1-2 shift at WOT, brand new belt on Friday. Lucky for me it wasn't destroyed.

EDIT: Tossed the belt due to idler pulley bolt backing itself out.

Get a laser level and check your pulley alignments. Something is off. Even if it looks fine check it with a laser.

Yep, if it is throwing the belt, that is alignment. If it is slipping, you could try PCM of NC Heavy Duty Belt Tensioner Kit ? PCM of NC, Inc. which is what I have.

Are you using a 6 or 8 rib belt?

The one I linked is 8 rib like the LSA and uses the LSA 8 rib tensioner.

6 rib..... but I don't see why I can't run the 8 rib tensioner with a 6 rib pulley.
