modded whipple intake pics 78 to 90mm intake

Here's some work that was done by Camaro Zach, (Daily Grind Fabrication.)

This started out as a really restrictive 78mm rear intake for a side mount Whipple kit for a 99-02 Silverado . . . the 78mm DBC TB was cut off, and a LS2/LS7 90mm TB was made. The entire rear section was remade.

That should help it breath. Needs some intercooling though.

AgFormula02 09-19-2010 11:12 PM

Wow, I would really be interested in one of those. Any chance he would consider making one more?

It actually already has a decent size intercooler... Look closely at the pics of the blower and you can see the outlet welded on at an angle to run parallel to the intake piping.

Here are a few more pics of it:

shoot . . . after taking all those measurements and stenciling the brackets . . . I'm eager to get mine on . . .

I don't want this kit sitting around like my heads and headers have been . . .

OnyxSilveradoSS 09-20-2010 11:03 AM

cant wait to see the results...I know with the bigger inlet and some Intercooling that blower is going to fly...great work.

pewterliftedz 09-20-2010 11:43 AM

dam that looks awesome kinda like like what (forgot his SN) did wit the 102 TB...
with some customizing those whipple can rly make some power...

03sierraslt 09-20-2010 08:01 PM

no kidding. He said that the blower noise was defiantly more loud, but it felt a little more mushy down low.

what all do you need next? How much boost?

Bromaguire 09-21-2010 11:19 PM

Looks great! I bet you'll see some great gains. I moved my throttlebody back to the stock location on my intercooled whipple kit and I picked up 20hp/trq and moved the whole powerband to left.

03sierraslt 09-22-2010 09:22 AM

Tootall- i believe it was a LS1 sensor, it was actally the sensor that came on my Kenne Bell

Mines NA for the time being, i have plans for it though.

It doesn't really look like much... It's been neglected for a few years since I graduated hs and put it in storage. Will be quite some time before it is finished. (need to build a bigger shop and save some serious coin for parts)

:D I wonder why that is.

I plan on making a thread when i finish the truck with all the work everyone did. And the people that helped me out with it. So numbers, track times, and everything should follow soon.
