Killer Chiller Installed
Ok I thought I would go ahead and post this and soon I will have more data and pics posted soon, but the initial results seem good I see an average of 25* drop at the IAT sensor in the Radix system, I have data logged using HPtuners and normally see a IAT about 20-30 deg over ambient (temp indicated on my mirror) and today I was seeing a IAT 1-2 deg less than the ambient.
Need to keep in mind that it was only 75 deg this morning, so I may not see anything more than 90 deg for a while, so results may be different on a 100 + deg day. I need to finish insulating my lines and reservoir and adjust (fine tune) the servicing on the A/C system. More results soon. |
Interested to hear how it works while under boost, if it keeps temps from rising as fast. :lurk:

It should be about 90deg this afternoon so I will see what that works like. |
Guess I missed out on the technology. :) What the hell is a "killer chiller"?

I think this is what they are refering to:

It uses the trucks A/C system to chill the intercooler fluid to about 50 F . |
So you have to have your a/c running to cool temperatures? How bad was the install?
|
That looks freaking sweet!!! Keep us (mainly me b/c I'm selfish) posted!

Thanks, I remember seeing that now. Looks like an evaporator immersed in the I/C coolant to super cool it. Does it run in series with the in cab evaporator? Notice any in cab loss of A/C?
|
From their website:
Will this system effect my in cab temperatures? You will see about an average of 5-7 degrees increase in the in cab temps under optimum conditions, but you can also adjust the refrigerant level to have more cooling in the cab, and less in the KC, by the same token you can adjust your refrigerant levels to see more cooling in the KC , and less in the cab.
