The Kenne Bell 2.8L after 2 weeks of Driving.....

Well Ive started to tune the new blower in the low boost region and so far it is very strong. It can spin all four 33 inch tires. I have trouble brake stalling it anything past 2600rpm. the brakes are just too wimpy. I will also need to upgrade to the 90mm TB soon to max out the top end. I ran a 0-60 spinning all 4s and going up a slight hill in 4.2s. The blower gearbox needs to be vented before I can lean on it harder. Those parts are on the way. The IAT's are always sub 100 with the intercooler. The meth does not really do anything to the temperatures.

So far it has been a very worthwhile mod. The blower whine is more of a pleasent humm.

More updates to follow.

Thanks for the update. Those IAT's are really nice. I'm looking forward to building a rig with one of these. :D

Question - do you need to stall it past 2600 RPM? I thought that blower built full boost by 2000 RPM or so.

Also, please explain what you mean by venting the gearbox....pics if possible. Thanks.

Please keep us posted, there aren't a lot of KB threads on here and I'm very interested in their new stuff. Thanks for all the info.
Good luck!!!!

At the front of the blower there are two gears which rotate the twin screws. the gears are in a "gearbox that needs to be vented so that when the blower gets hot the expanded air is allow to escape instead of building pressure. The venting is done through the pulley bolt with a hole in it. Previously it was vented through a port in the top of the blower. The setup Im currently using need to be vented.

Sounds sweet man. I'd really like to try out that 2.8l blower on a project.
