When the TBs opened at WOT it did have a strong sexual element to it for sure.

Nope. 6 liter for 2018... if they do release a new engine it will probably be some piece of crap with afm and direct injection. Better off just do a blower on the L96.

Maybe... but the HD never had DOD in the past.

Let's hope they leave that "improvement" out of the heavier vehicles.

I don't get why they haven't just stuck the 6.2 without AFM in there. It's not like it would require a complete design of anything. Better power, better mpg, better better better.

It's way behind in power compared to a 6.4 hemi using the current 6.0.

Meh... go drive a 6.4 Hemi... you aren't gaining anything there with that junk. I would take a 4.30 geared 6.2 Super Duty over that Ram trash anyday. The 6 liter is simple, relatively problem free and runs forever. Considering a good 80% plus of the sales are to commercial customers... trust me like myself.... they don't give a ****.

That being said GM doesn't either and I pretty well guarantee the next iteration will be some AFM riddled abortion fail that really doesn't have anymore power than the outgoing.

Ford is releasing a 7.3L gas of some kind... it's either a V8 or a V10 ( my bet is V10) but it's likely only going in the 450 and up chassis. Ford has hinted it will have cylinder deactivation as well.

They really know how to screw up a good thing.
way to over think something simple.
The L9H 6.2 was a perfect motor for a truck.

Interesting that on this Camaro's stroked DI motor they are able to run 21* of timing at 21lbs of boost on 10.81 static compression. Don't know what octane fuel they were running though.

Will be more interesting to see what happens with the gasoline direct injection compression ignition motors(no spark plugs) that are coming down the pipe. Apparently they expect gains of up to 50% in fuel efficiency with these. Something like 40% of exhaust gas is recirculated.

12 cubic inches with the same heads and intake doesn't mean much. By the time they dropped the compression the performance would be identical. Not even worth the effort. I guess it would shut people up complaining the trucks should have a "6.2". How about they build a reasonable gas engine with some cubic inches and doesn't need to turn 4000 rpm to make good torque... novel idea I know.

Let's see it be reliable to fleet users and run on regular gas... should last about 3 days lol.
