how much boost stock ls2?
I bought a complete trailblazer ss ls2 for dirt cheap and should have it running in my 03 rcsb silverado this weekend, the plan is to do a single turbo on it in the next month or two... how much boost are people running with these ls2's and what kind of power can the stock bottom end hold up to?
You will be limited to the compression the LS2 has. At 11:1 SCR you could probably push 10psi and be safe on pump gas. That is assuming your tune and intake set up is spot on
i'd pull the 243 heads for some lq4 or lq9 heads to drop the compression some.
im new to the turbo thing, the plan is to try to run e85. if i run e85 which is a higher octane fuel will i be able to run more boost even with the 11:1 compression? if i wanted to change the heads which ones would you run the 317s?
Yes I would also put 317's on it. E85 will help with detonation but you can only push things so far before it isn't safe anymore. You would be a lot better off by dropping a full point of compression.
what do you think it would drop to with 317's? idk the specs on those heads
Take a look at the LQ9... it will match that exactly.
10.1:1 |
ok sounds like my plan then is 317's anyone know of any for sale for a good price?? What kind of power do people start having problems with the aluminum block and stock rotating assemblies?
I have a set at work that I could ship today if you want. I will be out of town for the next week and a half.
seen a ls2 with worked 317s make 800 rwhp on 11 psi with E85
dang that would be wild. I cant believe it is that easy to make hp on these motors
