I'm sorry but all these run-on sentences make it really hard to read and understand.

Don't screw around, send it to the OEM and have it checked by the only people who know. 45 years as a machinist doesn't mean poop.

As a former professional fisherman I would have people tell me "I've been fishing since before you were born" who couldn't land a fish if their life depended on it.

Not a personal attack on your guy as I don't know him BUT I do know BlownChevy and I do know Magnuson and I know they know better than any other. Just send it in as BC had suggested.

I will get this pic thing done sooner or later. As far as the send it in bit i dont have the funds for something like that at the moment im off on comp as of now so a budget build it must be for now or they can sell me parts a little at a time or I will find some used piece by piece and make it work. Now I will go and try these pics again.

I agree. I would think if it got hot enough to take the paint off of the pulley it could have some major damage. Did it turn over easily by hand? Turning it over by hand wouldn't really tell you anything unless you couldn't turn it over. Is that soot on the case, or did someone paint it black?
