When I was first getting started and only running about 5-6lbs or so I went FROM 3.42's TO 4.10's. Had factory 20's 31.5" I believe and a 10.5" vig that would brake stall to 2800ish. I dropped from 9.54 to 8.90 just with the gear swap from one week to the next with the same weather conditions. I know it doesnt make sense but that is exactly what happened. I was only building about 2.5-3psi at the line though. It woke the damn thing up.

Man, it seems crazy how these combos differ so much lol. My truck feels so strong down low 4.10s, but just does pull like crazy in the 2nd or 3rd gears like a turbo'd truck should. And the gurus are pretty much saying that im not staying in the gear long enough and using the boost efficiently...damn if I know lol

Try and find someone with some 31-32" tall tires you can swap on just for a test drive. That will effectively change your gear ratio and allow you to see somewhat what it would be like with a gear change.
