Default Going turbo custom build. Needed expertise.

I decided to get away from na. I was about to put 243 heads on my vmax. Cam it stall it and regear again. New intake tb. **** just to make a few extra Hp I may not be happy with.

So my buddy has some spear parts I can access:

Ls6 cam
60# injectors
He can also help with the tuning. As he has a twin turbo setup.

Right now I'm about to pull these 4.88 gears and throw my 3.73s back in the truck.

I also have both my stock exhaust manifolds I can use as a flip for the turbo exhaust.

I have quite a few questions as far as size turbo to go with etch... This is my daily driver and its a heavy truck been a Tahoe.

I tried to look around for prices and 1800$ was the lowest. Can I fab a setup for less I'm all in for it. And maybe use a nice sized turbo for street racing and good hwy mileage.

Main reason for turbo is the added tons of power and daily driveability with better ECONO fuel wise

6.0 HO 10.1 compression engine
4l80e tran built. Shift kit valve body etc with stock 80e stall.
Built driveshaft

So the drivetrain is strong and I would like to retain the stock stall to supply funds to build this turbo setup. Thus going turbo. I researched the ls6 cam great for turbo. With the 60# injectors I'll need a strong fuel pump.

But I need a list I parts I can start working on collecting from the experts now that you know what I'm working with.

Typing on my iPhone so excuse errors

Keep the 4.88s, that whole turbos need higher gears is kind of silly. Going to a higher gear like 3.73s will just put a lot more strain on your converter, and since you want to keep the stock one, you dont want that

Best bet is to get a kit from KB or trick...my first thought reading the thread title was "first move: double the budget".

Well the 4.88s r just too much. I was also advised to do KB kit as well. And I do realize I will need a stall still. Thanks for advice more is welcomed

First of all, what is the budget that YOU would like to spend? I was planning on a flipped manifold build for my truck. After I tried to fit it up I just didn't like it. Figure for electric fans, new plug wires, relocating the overflow, and building a nice turbo mount if you flip the manifolds.

After I accounted the extras in my budget just for the flipped manifold kit, I broke down and bought a kb manifold. I was never really happy with how I would have placed the turbo on the flipped kit. It was way over on the pass fender and too close to the hood for my liking. Routing the charge pipes, downpipe, and fitting the air filter was going to be a pain. So, I just bought the manifold and built my crossover and downpipe.

Take a look at my build if you are on an extreme budget. It may give you some ideas.
