Looks like some good info:

"The Omega temp sensor has proven other members that it can almost instantly react to temperature changes unlike the stock IAT temp sensor therefore providing maximum timing on FI vehicles spraying Meth.

I have used an Advance Auto parts brand stock replacement sensor, GP Sorensen part number 779-19036 which I believe is for a '98 Camaro, the parts store doesn't list the GTO part numbers yet. You could use the stock sensor if you want.

The Omega temp bulb is part number 44005 and is only available direct from Omega.

Here's is a picture of the cutaway IAT temp sensor showing exactly where to cut to replace the temp bulb in your stock sensor. Cut just past the second rib on the sensor then cut off stock temp bulb. Wrap leads of the Omega temp bulb around the posts left and solder in place. Lastly, I used 5 minute epoxy to glue the top piece back on that I cut off earlier."

I'd seen the thread on this mod on other forums. I didn't understand it. Do now. Thanks!

IAT SENSOR

Is this a IAT sensor for a Grand Prix GTP? Just wondering if it would be one I could pick up at the local parts house. Later

Hi Guys, Any of you still around eh?
Been refining the tune on my truck and want to know if this mod has been good for you guys and is worth the trouble on a non-sprayed 7psi Maggie.

Thanks

I had one on my old Kenne Bell setup, the IAT sensor on my TVS seems to respond well already.

IAT SENSOR

This is the one I use as well. It seems to work well enough, my IAT stays fairly constant when in boost spraying water/meth whereas before it would go up 10-15F during a few seconds of high boost. But right after I slam the throttle shut the IAT drops 10-15F almost instantly, might be because I have the sensor mounted in the manifold.

I think the guys who are seeing huge drops in IAT are those who have placed the sensor such that the spray hits the sensor directly, which probably isn't accurate. But, with my current setup there isn't enough change in IAT to be able to use IAT to add timing or whatever.

So, would this be worth the time and effort in my simple 7 psi no spray application for dialing it the tune better?

Thanks
