E85 & LT4 fuel system?
Anybody here know how much hp my flex fuel pump and an LT4 hp pump and injectors would support on E85? Just wanting to maybe increase boost to maybe 12 and run more timing. Not wanting to do a cam or meth really bc it's my work truck. Remember I'm PD.

I have seen 650rwhp. issue is people post numbers but you later find out they have cam or meth. So it is a little had to know straight numbers. I run 12-14psi now at 600rwhp and I'm max of fuel non e85. Stock fuel and cam. The issue you will see in the low side. There are kits available for low side. I have intake,tb,hpfp, injectors, lpfp system, E85 w/ flow rate, and boost ref regulator. going in next. Oh and stall. Man things add up...

I’m running about 8psi boost for 575 rwhp with a 5.3. LT4 hpfp, stock lpfp. Fuel pressure around 40 psi. I’ve seen it spike lower momentarily but a/f stays good. I’m adding flex fuel so if can ever get the trans tune lined out at WOT and hit a TNT I want to start adding some alcohol. |
So it's kind of looking like 420 ish may be the limit of low side on E85? If that's the case I would need low side as well. I'm wanting to avoid meth for reliability reasons on a DD work truck is the reason. Am I going to have to do the whole fuel system to avoid this? 2Fast4U you're turbo right? Littlefield you have a cam I think?

I assume you mean 620? That may be right. I’m not really sure what I’ll get out of it. The tune I have adds 8 degrees timing above 5200 rpm for E85 so I’ll see. It will take extra boost better, right? Yes, I have a cam, head work and headers. |

I see what you’re saying. If you’re fuel limited alcohol will hurt you not help you. I’m not quite at the fuel limit but based on what I’m seeing 650 rwhp is reasonable limit on E10 on my setup. With the stock lpfp I think I’m better off increasing boost a little rather than adding what little alcohol I can pump. |
Mr 2Fast are you running the 6 rib belt still? |
No I am turbo 600 is max on stock setup. But cam can buy 30% more or LT4 HPFP and injectors. This is why you see so many people going with Meth, well that and as you said cost. I will be installing injectors high and low pump and a few more things by april. I will not have lt4 parts however. And no meth for me E85 and a fuel setup for over 1000hp not that I will get to that power but still.
I can't say for sure but you are properly right on the power the max I saw a guy run for power on a stock 5.3 turbo with meth was 624rwhp that that was ALL out everything it had on E85 but again the meth really helped out with those numbers. You are fine to low-mid 500 with E85 and LT4 parts in my opinion. I say that number because of the low side it is the weakest link. Oh and there are MUCH cheaper low side options like intake or external on a boost switch. Even fuel bungs on a 2 stage system. No internal returned fuel pump in tank and y tap the factory line. super easy if you are adding a aftermarket adapter anyways for E85 or even at intake tap. |
