E-Force 15664 thoughts on a 2018 6.2

Hey guys and gals,
I just got rid of my 2018 Denali Duramax, and got into a new 2018 Denali with the 6.2 two days ago.
Great pickup, but stock is unacceptable!
Previously I built a turbo 6.0 LQ4, and had a TRD supercharged Tundra. I loved the HP potential of the turbo, and also the simplicity (and factory warranty) of the supercharger.
I’m looking at supercharging this one, and talked with Tony at Edelbrock regarding their E-Force 15664 supercharger with the 2650 rotating group being released next month.
What are y’alls thoughts on this setup???

The advertised 576 RWHP seems suspect, as there is not a “same day, same dyno” comparison to stock especially for an 11:1 base motor. The huge selling point is the 36k powertrain warranty. This will be a daily driver that tows our 7300# wakeboard boat in the summer. She might get lowered 2/4, or maybe just rear shackles.
I’m not finding much info on the Edelbrock Superchargers compared to other brands. Please give uncensored feedback, and in return I will give feedback of whatever I go with!
Thanks,
Matt

Day 1

Welcome! The only info I know on the Edelbrock is the previous units runners were long so it cost some top end. The 2650 hopefully is a different animal. I chose Whipple for me because it was complete and out of the box put out more than the TVS stock along with 1k hp capability on a stroker. Has much more low end than the Procharger and similar top end...maybe not quite as good. No pulley changes, no belt slip, no different tensioner, no custom shit whatsoever. Just bolt on and go complete with tune. That is why I chose Whipple. Good luck on this and welcome back to gas!

Hey,you bought from same dealer I bought my last two GMCs.Who was your salesman? Roger or Tom? Killer deals from them.I have had 3,magnuson's in the past and they were fine. This last time I went whipple and it was so much nicer.I have 50k miles on this whipple and its been set it and forget it(I run it hard).I can tell you the maggy tune is pretty weak.It gives you a ton of feel and response but I ran my buddy when he got a TVS 1900 and maggy tune nothing else.my same 6.2 tune only ran one truck length behind.I then went whipple custom tune and slaughtered him.I cant say much about the Edelbrock ,you dont see many around,I know resale wont be what the whipple is.So good luck.

I have a 2017 Silverado High Country 6.2 with a Whipple, Kooks headers, Cat delete wye. With the Whipple tune. I am going in on April 3rd for a dyno and a custom tune. I think Whipple is the way to go.

When you say you are running whipple tune,is it the one that came with the kit set up for stock manifolds cats and no trans tune? What pulley?

JADSCOOP 03-28-2019 05:26 AM

The company that installed the Whipple sent the TCM to Whipple for reprogramming. The engine tune was a remote tune. They said it was a standard tune they used for this set up.
4.00 Pulley

gonzo 6.2 03-28-2019 11:21 AM

mine they sent a unprogrammed STC hand held.Never used it.So you have a custom remote tune that shut off rear o2s for the cats and tuned for the headers? Have you checked boost #s? have you thought about smaller pulley for tune date?

The company that installed the Whipple and set up the tune never gave me horsepower and torque numbers. After I get a few pulls on the dyno . I will have the dyno/tuner check to see if there is any room for improvement.
I would like to go to a smaller pulley
That is an e-mail from Whipple

Im 7lbs with a 3.75 going to 9Lbs with 3.50 here one of these days on stock fueling

JADSCOOP 03-28-2019 03:26 PM

How does the motor run? If it is just a mater of changing the 4.00 pulley to a 3.50 and a tune. I will order the pulley tomorrow. I will have it installed at the dyno on April 3rd. I did not move forward with any upgrades because of the letter from Whipple. Any additional information you cAn give me will be greatly appreciated
