Ok.....with my combination of 11:1 compression, and 10psi boost with the TVS1900, the tuning is a little tricky. I've finally got it running great (well....if you do your own tuning, you're ALWAYS wanting to change something!). I've been using Torco octane booster as a safety net, and also using 100% meth, which works ok, too. I decided to try running a small mixture of E-85. I'm running 30% e-85 with 93 pump. I don't want to go any higher without tuning, and/or major system changes. They ARE coming, but for now, I just wanted to try 30% e-85............and boy does it help my truck! I wouldn't recomend it on any n/a stuff.....but with my situation it is a big help. Now, to just figure out the blend when I go to fill up again.

Idk what the torco octane booster stuff is made up of, but I'd it's leaded try not to use it with the e85... Fuels with lead in them don't work well with e85. Essentially the lead, which boosts octane in gasoline, reduces octane in ethanol do it actually is counteractive. Other than that, keep adding e85 until your fuel system is maxed out! Haha. It's great stuff

I'm tying e-85 instead of using Torco. Torco works very well, but it's expensive to use all the time. I can't go any more than a 30% mixture because my fuel system is maxed out.

I will be following this thread. I have an LQ9 with the 799 heads and my compression is at 11:1 as we well. Going from an LQ4 at 9.4:1 to this is very challenging tuning. I took 4 degrees out everywhere as a base and was getting KR all over. Are you tuning with HP or EFI Live? I would like to see your base spark tables and compare to mine. With all the timing removed, it doesn't feel too good.

I got the VE table dialed in, so now I am going to start playing with the spark tables. I plan to load in factory spark tables and use the boost timing table to remove timing when in boost. I think that would make it feel better out of boost.

No meth and 91 octane doesn't help. I have 72# injectors and a 255 in tank. I have a bosch 044 I plan on installing in line and then I plan to switch to E85. I am hoping it will really wake it up.

I hope you changed the stoich afr value in your tune or redid your ve table for that specific mix of e85, otherwise your fueling is way off.

How is this usually done? 30% E85 would constitute a 30% increase in the VE table?

Or would you just do the math on the stoch ratio .3(9.76)+.7(14.7)=13.22 as the new stoich ratio. In boost it would be .8(13.22) for 10.58?

Once the VE table is tuned, it shouldnt need to be touched again unless you change something besides the fuel. Simply chaging the stoich afr should put the fueling in line.

That is correct, but it gets harder to do that the more times you fill up with a mixture. The first time is easy.
