Does a cold air intake box hurt or help a turbo system?

I would just put on a 90* elbow and be done with it. If your running an intercooler I doubt your IAT temps will vary much between a cold air intake box and a 90* bend. If your worried about heat you might get a turbo blanket to.

Well I was planning on running the outlaw box just want to make sure it wont hurt anything vs an open filter. But if you guys say itll be the same then thanks for the info

So are you going to relocate the filter using a 90 and an open filter or the Outlaw CAI?

If your iats are good, my old setup they were ambient, then no it won't matter. I do think it looks a lot better with a 90 and a filter. (Coming from me, that has had the last 2 filters on the turbo) lol

I dont see the box being an issue without a lid... I plan on trying to see if I could get my SLP intake box to work with my turbo.

Only one way to find out right?

Also colder air is easier to compress, lowering drive pressures slightly.

What is the difference between the stock air box and an after market enclosed airbox????a filter is a filter whether ita a cone or flat filter right????

I've always used a stock airbox with a flat panel filter. Mine has a K&N in it, and the bottom is opened up.
