That would make it reveseable.
Maybe some type of jig plate made up for the do it yourselfers to drill and tap the J-tube to mount the adapter plate to?
A soft brass or copper gasket between the two parts would seal well with some permatex on it.
Or just leace he gasket out and use the sealant alone?
I'd be willing to make up a plate if someone provided dimensions or parts to reverse engineeer from.
It would be a pretty easy part to make.

I think that's what I've been talking about... an adaptor which is maybe the same thing that you are calling a conversion flange. I'm thinking that this adaptor would bolt onto the j tube, or intake manifold, just like the old tb and then the new tb would bolt onto it. Is that what you are thinking? Might be 1/2" to 1" thick??

the only thing with that is you would negate some measure of benefit having a 90mm hole necked down to 78mm.

The J-Tube can be opened up to match the bores on the existing flange and the adapter plate. Either way there is mot that much machining going on, just maybe a fixture to mount the J-Tube in the correct orientation for modification.

JIMS, sorry I missed your post, I just scanned through this thread quickly this morning. But yes that is what I'm thinking. It would be pretty straight forward.

Then we get into possible fitment issues with the stock Radix intake tube, which may or may not be of issue to you. The bellows may be able to compensate for some or all of that, however, someone will have to test fit that setup and report back. Personally, I think the LS2 modified flange on the J-tube is the cleanest and most sound approach, although somewhat inconvenient.

Either way the person with the Radix will lose their J-tube for a short time for mods, unless its done on an exchange basis.
Then you run into the guys who have powdercoated/painted or polished them to match their engines or blower cases.
If you could get a quick one week turn around on the j-tube mods that might be good enough for most people.

Good point, and this is the perfect thread to address this service. The sponsor who will be machining these and/or converting them, is monitoring this thread so anything one might be interested in as a deliverable product, please speak up and let it be known

hows aboot some type of exchange program for the J-Tube to be sent out and modified? (like the PCM business) - is there/would there be enough demand for such a thing? I know im alright with welding and all... but nothing i could do would come out quite as nice as theirs...
- maybe even an entire package/exchange kit (incl. t-body, j-tube, jumper harness & TAC module)... i say exchange to make a fair price as well as only create what is demanded for lower cost/loss of profit... etc. the harness sold by speartech is @ a great price - with my discount i priced out the two connectors and terminals and it was around upper 40's for it all... and for them $50 shipped... thats perfect, so you know they got a deal on a butt-load (kind of like smas club) but then everyones happy... we spend almost (just as much) as we would if we were to have made them ourselves... and they still profit nicely... i dunno, just a thought, the way society is these days everyone wants everything yesterday... lazy, ill f'n admit it... but what im getting at... people limit their modifications to complexity - difficult to install.... think aboot how many E-fan kits are sold, cold air intakes, pcm tunes, MAFS, exhaust packages... everything bolt-on incl. the radix... its fairly simple to install... forget fairly... its simple... this throttle body package would sell... just as if it were another cold air intake, set of headers, etc. etc. etc. something simple to install and would compliment most mods with a significant gain in power etc. etc.... someone back me on this, please...

take care, sorry for more than 2cents on this one, its all on acct. of me not trusting myself with the welder... that and i dont want an abortion at the end of my J-Tube... if i did i wouldnt have gotten the polished radix... hell i probably wouldnt have gone with the radix in the first place! I love it.... along with Magna's cust. service... the entire package... well done guys! if i could ask for more.. this would be it - J-Tube modified, TAC module, T.Body, Harness & possib. Updated/Upgraded Intake tube/bellows asm.

I'd like to send mine in and have it come back all ready to go, with the TB included (need to have options for ETC guys and cable guys) and a larger intake tube. I don't want to cut up my intake tube and tape it back together. Ugly.

I also agree with the above posts,
I would rather send in my J-tube as an exchange or to mod mine (if the turn around time is reasonable) I would like to get everything done at the same place, package deal.
Thanks
Mark
