Default choosing a turbo converter.

I'm a total noob when it comes to converters. I've always had 6 speed cars.

The truck is a turbo 5.3 with a cam. 78mm turbo. 4l80e.

I found a local guy on ls1tech that has a new coan converter. I think it may work for my setup just curious if I'm right.

its there 265mm maximum performance triple torque multi-disk lockup unit. it has a billet cover and billet apply plate. He says its a 3,00 to 3,500 stall and has one free restall if needed.

What are your guys thoughts? any help appreciated.

It may work okay, never heard of them before.

I've seen people have great results with the Circle D budget 4L80e converter though.

Would the budget converter suit my needs? 95% of the time will just be a fun street truck. Might make to to the track once a year.

Looking to make 650-700 wheel and do sweet burnouts lol

I would go with a little less of a stall personally, I had a circle D 3200 and didn't like it for my daily, terrible mileage and unless I was really on it it felt like I had less power. I'm back with a I6 trailblazer stock converter and couldn't be happier.

The best thing about my Circle D is that I don't have to worry about bending my stock rods from my turbo building too much boost down low. lol

Coan makes a hell of stall. If it's in good shape, a triple disk as you say, and the price is right, no way in hell I would pick a budget stall over it. No brainer here.

Correct.

CD converters run on the loose side.
