A lot of better name turbo companies still get most of their parts from China. I do agree that even the best made in China turbo can not compete with the top name turbo manufactor's quality. But I'm eager to see what this mildly priced turbo is capable of with performance and longevity.

^ exactly, in fact Precision now gets their internals from china rather than from Garrett. Im sure this turbo is not up to par compared to a BW but it should work very well on my setup

Yes they do get their parts made in China. But there is usually a difference in quality from a company that manufactures in China but is actually owned and operated by the parent company vs. a Chinese knock off company producing parts and assemblies to a spec they are not 100% sure is correct. Some of the differences are the castings themselves or the quality of the machines being used to make the parts themselves.
I see this first hand in manufacturing right now. I have been in this field since 84 and the trends are easy to see if you are in the mix of it every day.
Not trying to say this knock off turbo is bad at all, it may in fact be just as good as the original it was patterned after. I am actually hoping it is as good because I want a less expensive new turbo too!!

There is so much QA/QC (quality assurance/quality control) when you buy from brand name turbo companies even if they make them in China for cheaper labor cost.

When it comes to Chinese knock off turbo products, that QA/QC goes down the drain, most of the time.

However, for someone who is building his own DIY turbo kit, it does not hurt him to try any of those turbo's.

Ive already had great success (Borat voice) with my chinese on3. And countless others are having great success with other chinese turbos. The point of the thread wasnt whether this turbo is equivalent in quality to a BW or a Garrett. My point was this is the EXACT turbo that magnum sells for over twice what I paid for it. The only way anybody can convince me this is not the EXACT turbo is if you bring me to each factory that makes each one and I see it myself, I can guarantee these are made in the same factory because they are the same turbo! Whether that be in China, Brazil, or where ever Magnum claims they are made. The point was to help you guys out by showing you a badass turbo for little money.

Thanks alot. Big Mouth. LOL.. For the price he's asking for that turbo now, its not a great deal in my eyes. For a few bucks more I can get a BW turbo. Maybe I'll try the non BB style for under $300 that guys on tech had great success with. Still fits into my Low Budget 6.0 build.
