Default CEL after Whipple install

2016 Silverado 5.3. I'm getting codes p056, 057, 158 and 161. I can clear them and they reappear after a fairly short period of time. All have to do with O2 sensor circuits. Curiously the O2 sensor fuse is used as a trigger for the water pump so I suspect I wankered something but just thought I'd ask if anybody else has seen this.

hmm, sounds like you need a tune. Maybe the increase in exhaust flow and pressures is throwing off the readings. Of course I can only speak from the turbo side of things where we have to get a tune to drive.

Although, I did put a powerdyne on my 1997 suburban. Had it tuned on a dyno as well though.

Good Luck.

I’m using the stock truck tune Whipple supplies via HPtune.

do they give you a new MAP sensor with that kit? How much boost is it kicking out?

Nope, no new sensor. I've got a late model 3 bar sensor ordered and will recalibrate. Whipple told me to expect about 8-9 psig.

ah, ya. You should have at least the 2bar. Not sure why the 3 bar wouldn't be working for you tho?

It's not installed yet. The CEL thing has me flustered. I can clear the codes, start the engine, drive as much as I want and the CEL will not come on. At the next restart the CEL will go out for a few seconds then come back on. Very repeatable. Maybe it is tune related.

All 4 of those codes point towards the same sensor, that being the passenger side rear o2 sensor. Either that sensor is dead, unplugged, removed or there is a wiring problem to it.

The whipple tune itself should not be causing the code.

Sure makes sense. I'll do some troubleshooting on that sensor. Weird that it works for one run cycle then CEL's.

Using the scan gauge, both the O2 sensors in the 2 position show 1275 mv when cold. Turn the ignition on and after a short time the bank1 sensor drops to around 800mv and bank 2 stays at 1275. Acts like the heater isn’t heating.
