Cam question

So my truck is currently at a local trans shop getting a full 4l70e build warrantied for one year to 750whp, the stock trans lost second gear after about 5k miles of boost (44k on truck).

I was holding out to do a cam swap until I had the trans built for obvious reasons, but I feel it is now time to make the move.

Ive seen the great results some have had with the ls6 cam and that was my first choice to go with, however i have a buddy with a TBSS that is selling a custom spec'd cam for 200$ with only 5k miles on it. The cam he has for sale is 226/236. Will this be too aggressive for my set up? And also what else will I need for the job? He claims only valve springs...but I have other friends saying they have heard I will need more such as push rods and rocker arms.

Any comments are extremely appreciated, I just don't know much about cams and don't want to buy anything i don't need or destroy my valve train with ignorance.

My goal would be to step up to 600 wheel with the cam/head studs ~ 20psi.

thanks!

I dont like the big exhaust duration compared to the intake.
if it was a 226/226 then yea id say jump on it.

What lift and LSA is it?

i think 99.99% folks on here use stock rockers.

Springs and pushrods are all you will need.

The numbers I got back from him : 608/612 114

If it wasnt so big a split i think it would work great..
but dont like the fact that the exhaust is 10* more than the intake.
Theres more pressure in the exhaust than in the intake. so what do you think is goin to happen when both the intake and exhaust valves are open at the same time during overlap?

You have a 3* overlap with that cam.. most turbo cams have negative Overlap.

The Isky 215 i have in my sig has -13*
and the popular Isky triple 12 has -12*

Alright thanks for all the info, I'm going to show that to my buddy and see what he says.

What cam would you recommend for me?

Isky 212, Isky 215, or speed inc TU1 at the largest.
