Blower porn.... mmmmm.... YES I FINALLY GOT IT!
I posted this up in my build thread, BUT since it is a PITA to search through that thread I decided I would post this separately...
I got a call yesterday morning from Brian... he said... "dude... man... your 2300 BLEW UP on the dyno... its gonna be another 8 months..." Knowing he was Fvcking with me i said... "well did you at least get some video of it exploding??" his next words... "Come pick up your blower.... its done" Pics... http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1.../tvs_boxes.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...d/tvs_box2.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...vs_bag_box.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1.../tvs_front.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s2300_side.jpg :drool::drool::drool: its polished and it looks a lot better in person... I have to get fuel rails and injectors as I am doing something custom :secret2: probably at least 75# injectors with some anodized fuel rails... plus I have a brand new LS7 '08 TB getting polished at the moment... Big thanks for Brian for putting up with my constant phone calls... and for a great deal on the blower too... :D |
Wow, looks great :)

to answer your question in that "other" thread...it may be a simple mind, but man isn't it purdy?!?!! Power from IDLE! |
Anybody else notice it says "For Offroad Use Only" on the snout?:jest:
|
It's nice but I'm sorry it just doesn't excite me like the black finished ones...

Well I already have my 10 rib kit from ATI (including idlers)...
http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...d/10ribati.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...0ribdamper.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...ard/atibox.jpg I'm not worried about slippage... as for the black finish over the polished... this is a POLISHED finished, not powder coated... plus if you see the rest of my engine compartment you will know why i went with polished... for the (hopefully) last time... I am NOT building a TRACK truck... even though every part is built and then some for a track... this is a show truck... magazines, garage queen, etc... that I can actually drive once and awhile (weekends, car shows)... this is no where near a daily driver... if I put a 1000 miles a year on this truck I will be surprised... I have 2 other projects in the works that will meet or exceed this truck in cost and time too... I have a great job, love what I do, and make decent money at it, so what is so wrong with having custom vehicles? Hell Jay Leno has 100's of cars... there is nothing wrong with having some sweet rides... anyways... here is another pic - brian came by my shop today and we test fit the SC... pic - http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1.../tvs_mount.jpg |
I left some rubber for you:devil:

Some people like apples, some like oranges... Some people like polished blowers, some like black... ;) -for the record, I like apples AND oranges :jest: |
track truck or work truck...I dont see much middle ground :)
At least go kill some vettes when its done, you have to keep people on their toes. |
I guess I did sound a little fustrated... my bad... I cant tell you how many people ask me -
"Why are you doing all that to a TRUCK?? it gets old... and I have seen a ton of trucks WAAAAY more extreme than mine... hell, look at Marks twin turbo denali (R.I.P.)... his truck was MY inspiration to my build, except I went SC, instead of turbo'd...

My mortgage broker has a mildly modded Z06 (along with a lambo gallardo) and we have a challenge... my truck vs either one of his cars... on a closed airport runway... should be interesting, im more worried about his Z06 than his little lamb http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/skins/Alab...es/f_sheep.gif  |
Yeah, I don't know why anybody would do that to a truck...what a waste. :jest:
Just kidding man, you have a safe place here at pt.net where we all "do that" to trucks. :) No need to explain yourself around us. A 2300 (even if its pink) on a 427 speaks for itself. |
Any plans for traction adding devices?
|
That looks KILLER with those blue coil/valve covers...:drool:

Im also running caltracs... but without a built 4 link, traction will always be a problem... if I were to build a track truck, i would start with a rcsb and tub the rear... |

One thing that would be bad ass for you would be the LSX shootout. I know you didn't build it to race and will likely only ever take it once to the track. For the big exposure it would be huge if you ran it at the LSx shootout. Look at the response the TBSS that ran 9's got from it. If you went out there with that hot looking of a truck and it ran a 10.xx you'd be the buzz of the event. Possibly get the attention of even GM High Tech Performance (my favorite magazine) which also recently featured Jeff Bullock's 7.0L Silverado SSS. That same company deals with Hot Rod and others also. Making it in Hot Rod would be the ideal like Parish did and you'd really only need to go to the track once for that. The LSX shootout gets coverage from so many magazines it would be the atttention you are looking for from the sweet machine.
I'm suprised the the block and lower manifold isn't painted to match the outside color of the truck. On a side note, when does the engine go in? |
thanks zippy, i will look into the lsx shootout... :thumb:
i am painting the block blue, just havent had time yet... |
damn dave taht is just flat out sick... let me know if your gonna be coming inland when its done i would love to see it bro
or if i could some by some time if i can afford the round trip ill come drool all over it |
I take back my previous comment about the black finish. Once I saw the rest of the motor, there is no way a black blower would look right atop of that beast IMO.
Also, I think I noticed your truck in a tech article in Truckin' a few issues back, are there plans for any future articles? I know your truck by far surpasses many of the ones I see in that magazine from month to month. |

Check my build thread for info and pics... and then roughly 4-5 more tech articles after that, and the a feature in the annual HP edition... and when you see what they have planned for the feature, it is going to be sick... :secret2: |
Sweet, I'm looking forward to it. I would have already looked through your project thread but everytime I start to looking at a thread of such magnitude I end up reading through the entire thing lol.
